HVAC Mechanical Technician – Serco

Serco Murdoch, Western Australia

Permanent role, 12‑hour rotating shift, hourly rate $57.37. 24 / availability required.

Location

Fiona Stanley Hospital, Murdoch, Perth

Your Responsibilities

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) & reactive repairs on HVAC & refrigeration systems.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure optimal plant performance.
Maintain mechanical plant including heat exchangers, cooling towers, pumps, and motors. Manage HVAC assets such as AHU VAV & heat recovery.
Perform risk assessments & job safety analysis for all tasks. Maintain high safety standards.

Position Details

Shift roster : 12‑hour, 24 / 7. Monday‑Sunday, day (6am‑6pm), night (6pm‑6am), weekends, public holidays.

Roster patterns : 2 / 2 / 5, 2 / 3 / 4, 3 / 2 / 5 days (repeating).

Shift allowance included in base rate.

Qualifications & Experience

Extensive building services experience in large commercial, health or aged‑care facilities.

Proficient use of testing instruments, tools, and equipment for asset commissioning & performance monitoring.

Experience fault‑finding HVAC and refrigeration systems, including cooling towers, air‑cooled condensers, split & DX units, ice machines & clinical fridges.

Knowledge of HVAC control systems; ability to review BMS trends.

Strong customer‑service focus; proactive communication to resolve concerns.

HVAC Trade Certificate, ARCTICK licence, and restricted electrical licence mandatory.
