The Commission works to improve the lives of older people by maintaining the integrity of the aged care system and safeguarding those receiving aged care services.

About the Team
The SIRS PPI branch supports the Commission’s purpose with emphasis on improved sector engagement and reporting related to the SIRS program. This includes :
- Strengthening engagement to provide improved advice and education about SIRS reporting
- Targeted insights reporting to support the sector in preventing and managing serious incidents
- Redesigning the SIRS form to provide clarity and improve reporting quality
- Leveraging analytics to develop insights into sector-level, provider-level trends and systemic issues
The SIRS initiative aims to prevent and reduce the risk and occurrence of abuse and neglect of older Australians receiving Commonwealth-subsidised aged care and services.
About the Role
The EL2 Directors (multiple) within the SIRS PPI branch work closely with the Assistant Commissioner SIRS PPI to deliver selected program areas. Each Director will lead a small team across either Analytics and Insights, Engagement and Sector Capability, or SIRS Form Redesign, and collaborate with other Commission areas and sector partners to deliver program outcomes.
Plan and coordinate activities to deliver program outcomesIdentify program priorities with the Assistant Commissioner SIRS PPIAlign project delivery with broader program objectives and delivery approachProvide day-to-day leadership and management of program initiativesMonitor progress, risks, issues and dependencies; provide regular reports to stakeholdersManage risks and issues with mitigation and escalation as requiredLead data-driven initiatives and communicate data analytics and findingsImprove data and intelligence capability across the SIRS, using data in decision makingEnsure accurate data capture for risk modelling and trend analysisUndertake objective analysis and distil core issuesDevelop content and coordinate stakeholder engagement to ensure input across the CommissionBuild strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersSupport workforce capability and capacity development for the Assistant Commissioner SIRS PPIAdhere to the APS Values and Code of ConductKey Capabilities

Salary offered will be between $141,487 - $167,513 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.
Roles are offered on an ongoing / non-ongoing basis, with non-ongoing roles offered for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of one extension up to an additional 12 months.
