Carpenter - Bridge Maintenance Team, Hay

Capable and experienced trade carpenter required for work with a bridge maintenance team based from a depot at Hay, NSW.

This role will involve undertaking all carpentry trade activities and other functions, working on timber bridges and concrete structures within Hay and the broader Riverina area, to maintain bridges and drainage infrastructure.

Note : while this role is attached to a Hay depot, approximately 90% of your time will be spent away from Hay, involving overnight stays for up to 10 days at a time. Accommodation will be provided and applicable allowances paid.

You will carry out a variety of routine and repetitive physical tasks using hand and power tools. These tasks include, but are not limited to, general carpentry work, concreting, formwork, painting and general cleaning of bridges, either as an individual or as part of a team.

This role will involve working full-time hours (76 hours per fortnight) with potential for overtime, initially for approximately 3 months, with potential for further work beyond this time. A start date ASAP is required.

Successful Applicants will need :

• Carpentry certificate of proficiency or Trade certificate - Cert III in Carpentry, or equivalent
• At least 12 months experience in a Construction Carpenter role
• Current WHS White Card - essential
• Worker On Foot card - or willingness to obtain
• Good all-round fitness for manual work tasks
• Previous experience with bridge construction / maintenance will be highly regarded
