Role description :

Due to recent significant transport infrastructure project wins around Australia and globally, including Torrens to Darlington in Adelaide and the Fraser River Tunnel in Canada, we are seeking a Senior Durability Engineer to join our team.

As a Senior Durability Engineer at Arcadis, you will be instrumental in advancing the durability, resilience and sustainability of our engineering solutions. Your role will involve contributing to rigorous durability assessments, optimizing material performance, and ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and longevity.

Role accountabilities :

  • Providing durability design for the materials and major construction elements of road, rail, maritime and building projects. These includes elements such as tunnels, bridges, earth retaining structures, drainage elements, pavements, ports and facades.
  • Specifying durability testing programs and assessing the test results on existing assets to determine the remaining service life, or remedial design options.
  • Working closely with project managers, engineers, government and contractor clients to determine best for project durability concepts and then to integrate durability considerations into the design and engineering delivery.
  • Preparing durability reports and presenting durability findings.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or similar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in durability design or assessment of infrastructure construction materials.
  • Experience working on major Australian infrastructure projects and with relevant Australian Standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in specifying durability testing and interpreting the results.
  • Experience with durability-based service life modelling and analysis.
  • Excellent report writing skills with experience in delivering durability reports.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills with the ability to present durability concepts to engineers, contractors, clients and technical reviewers.
  • Excellent client focus and the ability to foster relationships with colleagues and clients.
