Job description

The Shipping team is responsible for the movement of product from overseas suppliers to Amart Distribution Centres.

The Shipping Manager will support the Shipping Coordinators to ensure the successful movement of all containers to Amart while also ensuring supply chain efficiency, shipping compliance, contract management, rate negotiations and budgeting control. This role is a diverse role and provides the ideal candidate the opportunity to grow in the role.

Please note, this role is a 14 month fixed term contract.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to :

Executing international shipment of products efficiently.
Effectively resolve shipping challenges by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Use software to track, check, prioritise and route orders.
Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, bills of lading etc.
Direct the flow of products from preparation to shipment.
Supervise and lead the Shipping Coordinators.
Control budget of the Shipping department.
Collaborate with other departments and colleagues to optimise processes.
Ensure compliance to legal regulations, CoR and company policies.
Manage the compliance of Illegal Logging Regulations within Amart and our Suppliers
Report to management on activities and issues in the shipping industry
Provide Market Feedback to Senior Leaders
Rate / Tender Negotiations on Freight Rates, Cartage Rates and all Shipping Contracts
Maintain Amart’s Australian Trusted Trader Accreditation
Management of Freight Forwarder and DC Wharf Cartage company providers

About you :

5 + years Import / Shipping / Logistics / Supply Chain operations management experience.

Extensive knowledge and experience of international logistics.

Highly effective communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes and objectives.

Approaches tasks and activities with a safety-first mindset.

Ability to stay focused and be detail orientated.

Comfortable interacting with a range of team members and working as a team.

Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
