Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented finance professional to play a key role in the financial success of our organisation. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day and month-end financial activities, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working across both operational and strategic finance, with a strong focus on accuracy, governance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to senior management, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading month‑end processes including accruals, journals, profit and loss review, and balance sheet reconciliations across the Group
• Preparing and delivering consolidated group financial reports and engaging with key internal stakeholders
• Developing budgets, forecasts and financial reports to support governance and operational planning
• Monitoring costs, tracking operational KPIs, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
• Preparing, reviewing and lodging statutory returns including BAS, PAYG (wages), PAYGI (income tax), FBT and Payroll Tax
• Providing input into weekly cash flow forecasts and payment processes
• Assisting with group bank reconciliations
• Supporting bank and statutory audits, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
• Developing, documenting and maintaining finance policies, procedures and internal controls
• Ensuring robust risk management practices are in place, particularly in relation to fraud prevention
• Maintaining the integrity, control and effective use of finance systems and the ERP
• Managing day‑to‑day ERP operations and leading systems improvement and automation initiatives

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A university degree or diploma in Accounting, Commerce, Business Management or Administration
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and relevant Accounting Standards
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Teams and Power BI
• Current C‑Class License
• Ability to pass Pre Employment Medical and D&A Screen
• National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
