Hervey Bay

  • Stream A Level 5 - $89,809 pa + superannuation
  • 4% salary increase mid-April (EBA)
  • 17.5% annual leave loading
  • 9-day fortnight

What we are looking for :

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Land Dealings Officer to join our high performing Governance team. You will be first point of contact for any land tenure enquiries. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining our land asset register and tending to land dealings and transactions related to Council’s land portfolio.

What your day will look like :

  • Contribute to the ongoing strategic review of Council’s land assets
  • Provide technical advice on Council’s property portfolio
  • Prepare briefings, reports and submissions on land tenure issues and projects
  • Manage the compulsory land acquisition process and lead property transactions
  • Investigate enquiries from the public related to land use

    What you’ll need for success :

  • Tertiary qualifications (AQF level 7 or above) in a relevant discipline (law, planning, land management, valuation); and / or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of legislature and regulatory frameworks as they relate to this position
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to relate well to a variety of stakeholders
  • Proven consultation and negotiation skills
  • What’s nice to have :

  • Experience undertaking land transactions
  • An awareness of the Native Title and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage land management
