We are looking for an ambitious
- Accounts Assistant
- to provide support to the financial team by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a strong and high-performing team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company's finances.
In this role, you will make an impact and contribute to the overall efficient operation of the team and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. This way it can make the right decisions and accomplish long-term success.
In this role, be exposed to and learn from our Accounting, Tax, Payroll, Projects, and HR teams.
- Your duties & responsibilities
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Preparation of payroll on a fortnightly basis.
- Update AP / AR, perform balance sheet reconciliations, issue invoices
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records, etc. as assigned
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit weekly / monthly reports, EOFY, EOY, and EOM closings
- Assist with other accounting projects
- Match customer payments and maintain customer / supplier records
- Manage and recover outstanding debts
- Purchasing of cash sales

- Skills, qualifications, and experience
- Proven experience as a Junior Accountant
- Bachelor in accounting, finance, or a relevant field
- Prior payroll experience is desired
- Qualifications are a plus but not required
- Excellent organizing abilities
- Great attention to detail
- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
- Good and clear communication skills
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. MYOB)
