About The Role

We’re seeking a Principal Civil Engineer (Roads & Highways) with proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and delivering major infrastructure projects across the transport industry. You’ll be based in our Cairns office , helping to expand our capability across Queensland while enjoying the benefits of a relaxed, tropical lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Lead civil and transport infrastructure design projects with a focus on roads and highways
  • Drive business development across FNQ and QLD through relationship building and repeat work
  • Deliver technical excellence while ensuring projects are on time and within budget
  • Mentor and grow a talented, local engineering team
  • Contribute to strategic planning and capability expansion in the region

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • 15+ years’ experience in roads & highways design and project delivery
  • Solid understanding of the Queensland market and relevant design standards
  • Strong project management and client engagement skills
  • A commitment to technical excellence and continuous improvement
  • Able to travel occasionally (domestic / international) as needed
  • Chartered status (or working towards) will be highly regarded
