Town Planner

PPlan is based in Hendra (QLD) and works across all the eastern states of Australia (Qld, NSW and Vic). We work with a broad range of clients providing town planning consultancy services on diverse town planning projects. Depending on experience, the preferred candidate will commence Qld work initially and progress to the other jurisdictions PPlan services. You will be highly motivated, flexible, and can work unsupervised as well as part of the team.

The role includes the following tasks :

Providing guidance, advice, and quotes to clients

Preparation, lodgement, and management of Development Applications to Council and / or State Government Agencies

Review and further advice to clients regarding Council / State Approvals

Client and Council / State Agency meetings

Administration tasks associated with the provision of consultancy services including answering the phone, lodgement of DA jobs, client invoicing, quoting and data entry of information into company information systems / database

Skills and Experience

A tertiary qualification in Town Planning or similar (required)

Experience in a similar role (preferred)

Experience in preparation and management of development applications (preferred)

A sound understanding of the Queensland and / or New South Wales Planning Legislation including (required) :

QLD - Planning Act 2016, Planning Regulation 2017, Development Assessment Rules and State Planning Policies and Local Government Planning Schemes

NSW – Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021, State Environmental Planning Polices, Regional Plans, Local Environmental Plans and Development Control Plans (broadly)

Excellent negotiation, communication, and time management skills (required)

A C Class Driver’s Licence (required)
