OVERNIGHT CHEF - AIRPORT LOCATION

PRODUCTION KITCHEN

What does a typical day look like?

Bring your Culinary skills to our dedicated team of craftspeople, curating and presenting restaurant quality meals at 40,000ft in the sky. As a Chef in our Production Team, you will be working in a busy, open plan kitchen preparing & cooking various hot & cold meals in commercial quantities, for our Customer Airlines.

In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:

• Assist with running the HALAL Kitchen during our overnight shifts
• Preparing hot & cold meals for Business & Economy class passengers for various domestic and international Airlines in bulk.
• Stock control & minimizing food wastage.
• Ensure that taste, consistency and presentation are at the highest possible standard
• Maintaining a strictly hygienic work environment at all times.
• Use proper techniques such as cook-chill methods for safe intermittent food storage
• Following menu specifications as well as Food Safety / HACCP & OHS guidelines.
• Follow Master Production Schedule (MPS) for daily and weekly flight planning
• Work with Catering Attendants and Leading Hands in Production to meet targets
• Take direction and carry out any assigned tasks from Sous Chefs and CDPs in charge of our various sections

What do you need to be successful in securing this role?

• Minimum Certificate III Commercial Cookery or higher qualifications
• Previous/Current experience with HALAL food handling & cooking (must be certified)
• Passion & drive to deliver high quality to our customers.
• Ability to work various shifts on a 7-day rotating roster.
• Good written & verbal communication skills. strong attention to details.
• Good organizational & time management skills.
• Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of small team.
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet production deadlines.
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferred but not essential.
• As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check (at our cost).
• Availability to work from 10pm or 11pm at night, five shifts on, two off.
• Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
