The Position
As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will provide high-quality care to infants, children, and adolescents across the Goldfields region. Based at the main regional health campus, you’ll also support surrounding communities through outreach and telehealth. Working within a skilled multidisciplinary team, you’ll deliver patient‑centred care, contribute to service improvement, and mentor junior medical staff. The role includes participation in the on‑call roster, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in emergency and neonatal care across this diverse regional setting.

The service provides healthcare to more than half a million people, including a significant Aboriginal population, across a geographical area exceeding 2.5 million square kilometres. Services encompass emergency and hospital care, primary and community health, Aboriginal health, mental health, alcohol and drug services, school health, child and maternal health, aged care, and telehealth support. The Location
This position is based in the Goldfields region of Western Australia – a vast and historically rich area known for its strong community spirit, natural beauty, and diverse opportunities for adventure. Covering over 770,000 square kilometres, the region includes thriving regional centres and smaller outlying towns. It is a hub for mining, energy, agriculture, tourism, and aquaculture, and has a population of approximately 55,000 people. The region offers a welcoming lifestyle with affordable living, excellent schools, and easy access to spectacular natural attractions including coastal plains, ancient rock formations, gorges, and national parks. The Goldfields is also renowned for its Aboriginal heritage and cultural diversity.
