We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to join our team at the Port of Brisbane.

About the Role :

This position is responsible for managing daily transport operations at the Port of Brisbane, with a strong focus on safety, operational efficiency, and compliance. You will lead and mentor teams, optimise resource utilisation, maintain key client relationships, drive process improvements, and consistently achieve KPIs. This role requires a proven leader with deep industry expertise, a safety-first mindset, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities Include :

  • Managing operational processes to meet customer service, delivery, quality, safety, and financial objectives
  • Supporting, mentoring, and managing operational teams to foster a culture of safety, compliance, customer service, ethics, and efficiency
  • Coordinating company assets and labour resources to meet variable operational demands
  • Reporting on and achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Leading initiatives for continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintaining and enhancing strong customer relationships

Ideal Candidate Profile :

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Transport or Operations Manager role
  • Demonstrated experience with import / export container operations (essential)
  • Proven track record as a change agent and operational leader
  • High-level stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • KPI-driven with experience using Power BI
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and WMS / TMS software
  • In-depth knowledge of NHVAS, CoR, and other relevant legislative requirements
