About The Role
We are looking for experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide life‑changing therapy to NDIS participants. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done :
- Work in diverse settings – from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres.
- Utilise assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding.
- Build meaningful relationships with participants and their supports (family, carers, friends).
- Develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans using function‑based strategies and a positive behaviour support framework.
- Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA).
- Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges.
- Attend weekly team meetings in the hub; share stories of impact, coffee, and laughs.
- Tap into the knowledge and support of Team Leaders and dedicated Therapy Mentors.
Who We Are Looking For
To work as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you must have a relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor, Master, or Graduate Diploma) and appropriate registration, such as :
Occupational Therapist – degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration.Speech Pathologist – degree in Speech Pathology and SPA registration.Social Worker – degree in Social Work and AASW membership.Mental Health Nurse – degree in Nursing and AHPRA registration.Psychologist or related field – degree in Psychology, Psychological / Social Science or related field.You will also need :
Be deemed a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (letter of evidence required).Minimum 12 months of experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.A positive and flexible approach to work.Strong communication skills and a team‑player mindset.Commitment to personal and professional growth.A valid Australian driver's licence.NDIS Workers Screening Check.Working with Children Check.What We Offer
