What will you do
We're seeking a Senior Maritime Engineer who is passionate about water-based structures, fostering local stakeholder relationships to enhance coastal environments.
As a Senior Maritime Engineer you will specialise in project management and technical design, leading and overseeing engineering assignments and ensuring projects meet timelines and budgets. In collaboration with colleagues, you will be open to sharing insights, be an innovative problem-solver, and your experience will be integral to the role.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Maritime Engineer, your tasks will be as follows (but not limited to) :
Undertake concept designs and detailed designs of projects such as port and harbour works, quay walls, wharves, jetties, dolphins, piles, sheet pile and other retaining or other seawalls, waterfront development, boat harbours, navaids and the like.
Production of design calculations, checking and reviewing other engineer’s work, (both inside and outside the firm) as required.
Prepare technical documents such as Basis of Design, design reports, technical notes and feasibility studies.
Manage and deliver engineering designs of the above project types in normal building media including steel, concrete, timber, aluminium and the like.
Carrying out structural inspections and preparation of reports.
Prepare work execution plans around undertaking such projects to plan the appropriate level of resources and scheduling to complete the works in the required time frame.
Manage and deliver multiple small to medium projects following Company systems to meet project requirements, on time and within budget.
Supervise and mentor less experienced engineers and other professionals (drafters) in technical works as well as assist in professional development activities.
Undertaking all office and Company procedures necessary for the company to properly conduct its business (completing time sheets, leave applications, job records, invoicing).
Contribute to business development by engaging with clients, preparing capability statements, and marketing materials.
Review engineering outputs, both internal and external as required.
Conduct site visits and condition inspections with travel as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience
Civil or Structural Engineering Degree
Significant number of years’ experience in Maritime Engineering
Proficient in structural engineering software such as SpaceGass, Staad.Pro, Tekla Tedds
Experience with writing proposals, planning and delivering multiple small to medium sized projects
Chartered with Engineers Australia
Work experience on Defence projects
Chartered status with RPEQ
Industry participation through PIANC and Engineers Australia
Majority of project experience in Australia
