Overview

The role of Team Leader is to actively lead and manage a team of employees towards achieving broader team and organisational goals. The Team Leader will guide and lead employees through the day-to-day workflow activities, and act as a subject matter expert in their related function

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities

Strategic Focus

  • Build and lead a high-performing team aligned to organisational priorities and service levels
  • Champion continuous improvement and adapt to changes in technology and process
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder and customer relationships
  • Deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic, time-critical environment while managing risk and cost
  • Operational Management

  • Ensure all activities are focused on the member experience
  • Operate within the agreed operating model and delegated authority
  • Plan and forecast team workflows to achieve performance targets
  • Cross-skill team members to improve capability and resilience
  • Ensure compliance with processes, controls and quality standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to support business needs
  • People Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop Insurance Services and Family Law teams
  • Deliver all people management responsibilities effectively and on time
  • Foster an engaged, high-performance culture aligned to Link Group values
  • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback and support ongoing development
  • Communicate effectively with teams regarding organisational and legislative change
  • Recruit and develop talent with the skills required for success
  • Governance & Risk

  • Promote a strong risk, compliance and assurance culture
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Manage incidents, escalations and enquiries using established risk frameworks
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory obligations impacting team functions
  • Review and respond to quality assurance and operational reporting
  • Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Resilient, adaptable and confident leading change in complex environments
  • Customer-focused with a strategic and continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and accountability skills
  • High attention to quality assurance and staff development
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of superannuation, insurance and / or family law (desirable)
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader, Coach or Supervisor
