Based at Bowen Hills, this 12 month fixed term Tutor Suburban Rail Operator opportunity will have the possibility for extension to the right person.

About the role :

As a Tutor Suburban Rail Operator, you will play a crucial role in organizing and implementing accreditation and reaccreditation for Trainee Suburban Rail Operators and Yard Coordinators. Your expertise will ensure the safe, efficient, and timely marshalling and shunting of trains within Queensland Rail's operational framework.

You will be required to :

  • Participate actively in required training qualifications to train and assess Shunters and Foreman Shunters
  • Ensure successful completion of all accreditation and reaccreditation within required timeframes
  • Support Yard Coordinators by performing shunting duties safely and efficiently
  • Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of yard operations and points systems.

What you will bring :

  • Have the ability to develop and implement training in both classroom and field practices
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for delivering training courses
  • Have a good knowledge of Queensland Rail's Governance and Safety Management Framework
  • Commitment to providing quality customer service
  • A background in education, heavy machinery, construction or mining, training and assessment or hold a TAE qualification would be highly desirable

    • The shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake Psychomotor Testing as well as meet the medical standards for a Category 2 health assessment.
