Overview
Senior Legal Counsel – Construction and Energy, Melbourne. Our client is a world-leading greentech company delivering renewable energy and storage projects. The role sits in the Melbourne-based legal team and focuses on structuring deals and providing commercial, legally sound advice across the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating project agreements (e.g., EPC, O&M, connection, and long-term supply contracts).
- Advising on project financing, risk allocation, and regulatory compliance within the energy sector.
- Supporting development and delivery of large-scale renewable generation and battery storage projects from inception to completion.
- Managing legal aspects of claims and disputes with a proactive approach to commercial outcomes.
- Providing strategic input into major commercial decisions and contract strategies.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years PQE gained at a highly regarded law firm or in-house within the energy, infrastructure, or resources sectors.Strong front-end project experience; track record advising on complex, high-value transactions.Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating large-scale infrastructure or energy project contracts.Experience with renewable energy, battery storage, or major energy infrastructure projects, ideally under EPC, O&M, or PPP delivery models.Strong commercial acumen, problem-solving skills, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.To Apply
