Project Engineer (Electrical)

About the Role

Join the pioneering team delivering Australia’s first pumped hydro project in over 40 years. As a Project Engineer – Electrical , you’ll play a key role in the planning and delivery of complex electrical systems critical to the Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project in Far North Queensland.

Working a 14 / 7 FIFO roster, you’ll support the management of electrical scopes including HV, LV, control, and comms systems across the powerhouse, switchyards, and tunnel installations. This site-based role offers the opportunity to grow your technical and project delivery skills on one of Australia’s most significant renewable energy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of electrical works packages, including procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Support planning and coordination of electrical installations including cable systems, switchgear, lighting, generators, and SCADA.
• Review and interpret designs and technical documentation to ensure compliance with Australian standards (AS3000, AS3008, AS2507, S009).
• Contribute to the development of quality and safety documentation (ITPs, SWMS, RFIs, NCRs).
• Provide input into cost tracking, progress reporting, and construction planning.
• Collaborate with designers, suppliers, and project teams to address engineering issues and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
