Accessories Designer - Country Road

We have an exciting opportunity for a Soft Bag Designer to join the Country Road Accessories team on a 5month contract. You will research, design and develop category/ies aligned to the Brand strategy and financial metrics; working collaboratively with Design, Planning and PD&S.

Your Key accountabilities will include:

• Collate and present trend research and present inspiration to Design Manager
• Research and present Trend Direction seasonally to key stakeholders
• Design a product range aligned to the brand strategy
• Complete thorough specifications for PD&S team/Suppliers (including technical and construction specifications)
• Provide comments on all raw materials to P&DS team (including lab dips, strike off and trims)
• Manage proto reviews and collate comments to ensure product design and quality standards are achieved, partnering with PD&S team to achieve cost and margin targets
• Communicate product design changes to relevant stakeholders to mitigate any design concerns, potential delays and/or price variations
• Evaluate range performance by assessing weekly sales reports and attending trade meetings, taking learnings into future actions
• Ensure range is considered and aligned where appropriate to Women’s apparel/ Home Divisions.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about design:

• Previous design experience
• Strong technical design, fit and sketching skills
• Diploma or degree qualification in Fashion Design or related field
• Intermediate/Advanced skills in Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills
