Lead the Curriculum and Quality team within FASS, overseeing academic content administration, curriculum approval processes, and system maintenance, while managing team operations, training, workload allocation, and ensuring high-quality, timely, and accurate service delivery

Base Salary $126,065 – $142,171 (HEO8) + 17% superannuation

The Team Leader, Curriculum and Quality is broadly responsible for the operational implementation and dissemination of the Faculty’s curriculum, servicing the academic integrity of the curriculum by ensuring curriculum development and implementation follows established governance and quality assurance processes, procedures, and publication requirements in alignment with Faculty and University resolutions and policy. As a critical leadership role, decision-making is broadly independent and made in-line with Faculty and University resolutions and policy, and they are expected to exercise a high overall degree of initiative and judgement to coordinate multiple activities and resolve complex issues associated with program and project delivery.

They are directly responsible for overseeing the administration and compilation of academic content and materials prepared by academic staff for programs of study, including documentation required for the complex curriculum academic approval process, and maintenance of curriculum and degree program information in university systems, including representation in the Handbook and Sydney Courses. The role brings a multi-perspective understanding to the development and implementation of process change requirements to ensure adherence within the university policy and governance structure, University and Faculty objectives.

Your key responsibilities will be to :

provide high-level advice and oversight on curriculum policy, governance, and quality assurance, ensuring alignment with Faculty and University strategic goals

coordinate and review curriculum amendments, new course proposals, and Faculty resolutions to enhance coherence, consistency, and compliance

lead the Curriculum and Quality team, overseeing business-as-usual activities, curriculum planning cycles, and publication processes like the Faculty Handbook

ensures curriculum data integrity, interprets complex course rules, and conducts reviews to maintain academic standards and improve student experience

delivers training across the faculty on curriculum processes and promotes a culture of continuous improvement in service delivery

represents the Faculty in University-wide forums, working groups, and promotional events, advocating for curriculum-related interests

Provides effective line management, coaching, and performance development for staff, fostering collaboration and high performance.

About you

excellent attention to detail

ability to interpret and apply complex policies, procedures and legislative frameworks, provide high-level advice to senior academic and professional staff, and make sound judgements and decisions

outstanding team leadership and workload management skills

ability to develop and implement effective and efficient administrative processes with a strong background in governance and / or quality assurance

excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Highly developed report-writing skills, the ability to communicate complex policies and procedures to staff and students, the ability to negotiate and represent the Faculty at University forums

excellent digital literacy, including the ability to adapt to new technologies, maintain and development content for web and intranet sites, and manage high-volumes of complex data

Research and / or data analysis skills including the ability to identify, collate and interpret relevant data, make evidence-based recommendations and to undertake basic policy research.
