Bupa Greenacre is a modern care home set in the south west of Sydney. You’ll be close to the local community with neighbouring schools, parks and a shopping centre nearby. It consists of 138 beds, with a variety of care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents.

About the Role
As a Chef Manager you will work with a team of Catering assistants to lead a high functioning kitchen and catering service through the provision of quality, well presented, nutritious meals that meet resident dining preferences and needs in a home like environment. Ensuring excellence always, whilst adhering to all related quality standards and regulations.
This is a Permanent full-time role paying between $38.46 / hr - $39.98 / hr

Duties
Run an efficient, high-quality dining and catering service for the residents of the care homeCollaborate with the Lifestyle team to ensure all activities and events are appropriately planned and catered forEnsure any specialist resident dietary requirements are met (e.g. diabetes, weight loss or gain)Prepare the main dishes for lunch and dinnerOversee the washing, preparation, and cooking of all foods, including vegetables, soups, sauces, gravies, desserts, sandwiches, salads, bread, and rollsEnsure that all meals are prepared fresh daily utilising seasonal produceManage safe and correct processes in food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparationImplement infection control principles and practices as per infection control policiesComplete paperwork promptly and correctly as per duty list and Quality & Assurance ProcessesIdentify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff - this includes changes to processes or resident requirements, introduction to new equipment safety or environmental regulationsSkills and Experience
Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essentialFood Supervisor CertificateAged Care / Hotel / Restaurant experience preferredIdeally you would have previous experience in a similar roleEffective time management, organisational skills and budget managementPrevious experience in leading a team is desirable and managing a budgetUnderstanding of Food AuditsDemonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team and ability to effectively liaise with stakeholdersStrong interpersonal skills and a customer service focusHow to Apply
