About the Role

A respected independent Christian school in Melbourne’s south-east is seeking a passionate and qualified VCE English Teacher to join their dedicated secondary team. This is a full-time ongoing position, offering an opportunity to play a meaningful role in supporting students’ academic and personal growth within a values-based educational environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Plan and deliver engaging and effective VCE English lessons to senior secondary students

Assess and provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and achievement

Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and review

Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and maintain high teaching standards

Attend staff meetings, parent engagements, and professional development opportunities

Support the wider school community through involvement in co-curricular and pastoral initiatives

What We’re Looking For

A Bachelor of Education or postgraduate teaching qualification

Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration

Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, with at least 3 years teaching VCE English essential

Strong subject knowledge and proven ability to engage senior secondary students

Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills

A genuine commitment to professional growth and reflective practice

Alignment with the school’s Christian ethos and values

A pastoral reference will be required as part of the application process
