About the role
The Principal Intelligence Coordinator, Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), is responsible for producing high‑quality, timely strategic, tactical, and operational CVE intelligence products to support Departmental decision‑making. The role leads assessments and analysis, coordinates referrals to law enforcement and government partners, and prepares reports, briefings, and formal intelligence products. The Principal Intelligence Coordinator works collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team, builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and represents the Department in meetings and multi‑agency forums.
Responsibilities also include delivering CVE training and contributing to the development and review of governance documents, strategies, and procedural guidelines supporting Commonwealth and State CVE initiatives. A high level of professionalism, discretion, and adherence to the Department’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards is essential, along with flexibility to undertake additional duties as required.
Eligibility
It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL ONE security clearance as a condition of employment and maintaining the clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL ONE security clearance.
