At BOQ Group, we’re looking for a Senior Analyst in Quantitative Modelling to join our Group Risk team, focusing on Market Risk, Credit Models & Insights. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for Credit Risk Stress Testing and Collective Provisioning across all our credit portfolios.
You’ll play a key part in the monthly collective provisioning process, delivering insights and reporting on model outcomes, and managing stress testing frameworks and methodologies. Your work will help shape how we respond to emerging risks, including climate risk, and you’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the business, finance, and risk teams, as well as external partners like auditors, regulators, and validators.
You’ll be at the forefront of responding to regulatory changes and audit findings, and your keen eye for detail will help identify potential data issues, ensuring our models and processes remain robust and effective.
About You
You bring with you proven exerience in a similar role, with a strong foundation in mathematical and statistical modelling, and a passion for credit risk - of course!
Your background includes collective provisions, stress testing, forecasting, or capital reporting, and you’re comfortable articulating the business context behind technical activities. You’re experienced in stakeholder and project management, and you know your way around programming languages like SQL, SAS, VBA, R, Python, or Databricks, as well as code version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket. If you have financial services experience and an understanding of IFRS9, Basel, and APRA prudential standards, that’s a plus.
You hold a postgraduate degree in a technical or analytical discipline, and you’re confident in applying mathematical and statistical concepts to credit risk models.
Your presentation skills help you explain complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders, and your analytical mindset drives you to explore complex data and relationships. You’re proactive, curious, and a self-starter, and you thrive as a team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others.
