Overview

Material Risk Specialist – Woolworths Group (Sydney or Melbourne, Contract, 6‑12 months)

What you’ll do

Apply deep operational knowledge to support the risk management framework, identifying and implementing strategies to mitigate significant hazards.
Perform risk assessments, data analysis and present recommendations based on sound risk management principles.
Lead learning and education sessions to build organisational capability in material risk areas.
Develop and maintain group-wide standards, systems and processes to mitigate material risks.
Act as the subject matter expert, advising and supporting identified areas of material risk.
Collaborate, influence and consult at all levels to achieve seamless delivery of strategic objectives.
Define, develop and maintain strategies and programs that support compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

What you’ll bring

Tertiary qualifications in safety or equivalent, and / or relevant industry experience.

4+ years in a similar role requiring leadership and influencing at the senior level across a large complex organisation (not necessarily people leadership).

Strong technical and operational safety experience.

Experience developing and executing projects within a fast‑paced environment.

Knowledge of State and Territory legislative requirements, standards and codes of practice.

Ability to understand and interpret data, draw conclusions and provide recommendations to stakeholders.

Strong influencing, engagement and communication skills; relationship building and management skills.
