The Organisation
Minda is a value-based organisation : we work with heart, to create opportunity , operating with respect, to build a community. These values run through the core of each decision for each person we support.
One size doesn’t fit all…especially when it comes to our people
Each one of our participants is an individual with specific goals and deserves to be supported by someone who shares their interests. Whether that be sports, art, dance, movies or community based activities like volunteering, we would like a staff who is committed to redeeming the best out of each day, so that we can identify where your passion lies so we can provide that we can be confident in our peer match for supports.
The role
We currently have exciting opportunities for Disability Support Workers to join Minda’s Community Supports Team.
You will provide a positive, strengths based and person-centred service to enable individuals with disabilities to reach their own potential, become integrated into their community and providing opportunities to increase or maintain independence and build capacities.
If you have experience supporting and empowering people with disability to achieve their goals in areas such as joining a community group, working on personal health and fitness goals, increasing life skills, as well as being more independent around the home, then this may be the perfect job for you.
You will be rostered to shifts in line with the service requirements to meet the needs of the people we support. The hours of work and locations can vary as the Community Supports area of Minda supports clients 7 days a week. Generally, the supports are between 7am and 8pm each day.
In addition to supporting our clients with the above staff may also be required to undertake personal care in line with the participants support needs.
Please note that staff will be required to use their private / personal vehicles to transport clients in the community.
