Location : Gove Peninsula, Northern Territory (Fly-In / Fly-Out from Darwin or Cairns)

Roster : 1 Week On / 1 Week Off (12-hour shifts for 7 days)

Employment Type : Permanent, Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Tyre Fitter to join our client's mechanical workshop in Gov Peninsula, NT . This role is Fly-In / Fly-Out (FIFO) from either Darwin or Cairns on a 1 week on / 1 week off roster . Initially, the focus will be on 4WD and car tyre services , including fitting and balancing . However, as the business grows, work will expand to include heavy machinery and truck tyres .

The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing tyre fitting as a standalone business unit within the workshop. Currently, tyre fitting is handled by mechanics, but the increasing workload has created the need for a dedicated, full-time tyre fitter .

Key Responsibilities :

  • Fit, balance, and repair 4WD, passenger car, truck, and heavy machinery tyres .
  • Provide expert tyre services, including rotations, puncture repairs, and replacements .
  • Work independently to set up and establish tyre fitting as a core function of the workshop.
  • Assist with the selection and maintenance of tyre-fitting equipment and inventory.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently , adhering to workshop and safety standards .
  • Work on a FIFO basis (1 week on, 1 week off) with potential for increased rotation as demand grows.

Skills & Experience Required :

  • Experience in tyre fitting across cars, trucks, and heavy machinery .
  • Strong understanding of tyre balancing, puncture repair, and alignment techniques .
  • Ability to work independently and help establish a new tyre-fitting business unit .
  • Experience in mobile and on-site tyre servicing is highly advantageous.
  • Cert II in Tyre Fitting (Light & Heavy) preferred.
  • Current Drivers Licence (Car & Truck) preferred.
  • Forklift Ticket is desirable.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and procedures .
