Agricultural Technician – Poultry & Egg Production – Catani, VIC

Role Overview :

We are seeking a skilled Agricultural Technician with at least 1 to 3 years, preferably more, of post-qualification experience to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting research and development projects (with an emphasis on their feed milling innovations), assisting with field trials, and ensuring the smooth operation of our agricultural activities. Specifically, this employer is seeking a candidate keen to play key role in supporting their egg production operations, ensuring optimal poultry health, and maintaining high standards of egg quality. The role is full time and ongoing.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of relevant research and development projects.
  • Conduct field trials and experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of agricultural products and practices.
  • Collect and analyse soil, plant, and water samples to support research and development activities.
  • Work with them as they develop their feed milling operations and keep a close watch on associated costs.
  • Operate and maintain agricultural machinery and equipment.
  • Monitor crop growth and health, recording and reporting observations and findings.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of sustainable farming practices.
  • Collaborate with other team members and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of research and field activities.

Skills, Attributes and Qualifications :

  • A relevant qualification (minimum Diploma) in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field, or agreed substitute.
  • At least 1 to 3 years, preferably more, of post-qualification experience as an Agricultural Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural practices and technologies.
  • Experience with field trials and agricultural research methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to operate and maintain agricultural machinery and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for sustainable agriculture and innovation.
  • Unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia
