Arthur Phillip High School is situated in the progressive and rapidly expanding CBD city of Parramatta, bringing an exciting and dynamic energy to the school. The school is culturally diverse and has a student population of 1300 with 91% having English as an additional language or dialect (representing over 40 different cultures). The new school boasts facilities that incorporate future-focused, flexible teaching spaces with adaptable / moveable furniture and room configurations. Arthur Phillip High School incorporates science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) areas, fitness labs for physical education classes, and wet and dry studios for music instruction and practice. Specific Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Demonstrated capacity to lead the development of evidence-informed systems across the school to enhance the wellbeing and engagement of all students
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with and lead the school Learning and Support Team including the development and implementation of learning and support systems
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for developing links with eternal agencies, parents and the school community to meet the needs of students.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a dynamic member of the executive team, as well as with whole school staff to identify and lead initiatives that address school strategic directions.

General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policiesConditions
