Job Title : Assistant Trainer

Reports to : Trainers and General Manager

Lindsay Park Racing is looking for an Assistant Trainer to run their dynamic and growing stable at Pakenham.

You will need to be an experienced and highly motivated horseperson skilled in managing a team of horses and staff or have the confidence, professionalism and organisational skills to step up to this high level. Raceday repping and experience with media would be an advantage. The role reports to the Trainers and General Manager.

Tasks include :

Managing and leading the day-to-day running of a stable of horses in training

Management and coordination of stable staff, including timesheet management and rostering

Consulting with stable vets, farriers and chiros to manage health and wellbeing of horses

Maintaining horse records in line with the rules of racing

Representing the stable at jump-outs, barrier trials and race days as required

Preparing horses for trackwork

Qualifications :

Leadership, communication and team building skills

The drive, maturity, passion and reliability to hold this senior position

Demonstrated experience and confidence in handling and educating horses

Race day experience representing a stable and talking to media or willingness to learn

Knowledge and understanding of the rules of racing
