The Greater Western Sydney Advocacy Network (GWSAN) is looking for committed, values-driven volunteers and collaborators to help shape a region that’s fairer, healthier, and better connected.

We’re a people-powered movement — uniting professionals, creatives, advocates, and community members who believe Western Sydney deserves more than growth without vision.

What You Can Contribute

We’re seeking volunteers across a range of disciplines :

Policy & Research

Housing affordability, zoning, homelessness, and planning reform
Education, transport, and mental health policy
Research translation, mapping, and data storytelling

Community Engagement & Outreach

Connecting with local voices

Community events, campaigns, and placemaking

Lived experience advocacy and storytelling

Creative & Communications

Social media strategy and content creation

Digital storytelling, branding, and graphic design

Photography, video, or podcasting

Operations & Admin

Project coordination

Event logistics

Grant and funding research

Who We’re Looking For

You might be :

A policy wonk, researcher, designer, strategist, or creative

A community leader, student, early-career professional, or retiree

Someone with lived or life experience who gets the system — and wants to change it

You do not need to live in Western Sydney to care deeply about its future — we welcome voices and expertise from across NSW and beyond.
