Position Description :

This Practice is a vibrant, standalone, community-based, not-for-profit, charitable, health services co-operative that operates Clifton Co-operative Private Hospital; Clifton Medical Practice; Clifton Nursing Home; Sunflower Lodge (Memory Support Unit); Nirvana Hostel; Vedette Villas; and Clifton Home and Community Care. Pivotal to the operations, they employ a team of skilled General Practitioners who play a key role not only within the organisation but within the local community, and are passionate about providing high quality, person-centered care to patients and residents. Set amongst rich agricultural land in the relaxed country town of Clifton, just thirty minutes from both Toowoomba and Warwick, the GPs also enjoy considerable work / life balance opportunities including access to sociable and flexible work hours and can work on either a full-time or part-time basis in the busy, mixed-billing practice.

GPs have the option to work remotely using our state-of-the-art video health technology or onsite at the modern, purpose-built facility featuring the latest technology, diagnostic equipment, mobile device access, spacious and well-lit consulting rooms for GPs and Allied Health professionals and a dedicated, well-equipped treatment room. The GPs have access to great potential earnings up to 70% of receipts. They also have access to sign on bonuses, and for those relocating to Clifton there are also relocation expenses, access to Workforce Incentive Payments of between $12,000 and $23,000 per annum and subsidised short-term onsite and long-term offsite accommodation (dependent on availability).

With a focus on Chronic Disease Management and Closing the Gap in Indigenous health the Medical Practice is an accredited Rural Training Clinic providing professional supervision to Registrars, Interns and Students.

Neither the people nor the patients / residents are ever treated as ‘just a number’. Practitioners are supported by highly experienced Practice Nurses and trained administration staff, ensuring accurate appointment scheduling, invoicing, and debt collection and, ultimately, best use of each GPs time.

Open to applicants with valid authority to work in Australia.  Sponsorship opportunities available for the right candidate if already residing in or outside of Australia.

About Clifton :

Located on the rail line halfway between Toowoomba and Warwick, Clifton offers ‘acres of opportunity’ at affordable prices. A number of Australian films and television series have used Clifton as a background, with the most recent production being the Australian television series ‘Wanted’. Clifton is well equipped to cater for the needs of residents and visitors, offering a wide range of essential services, retail outlets, sports and community facilities. Clifton has a strong rugby league history and is home to elite standard polo fields. Sports facilities include a 25m indoor pool, golf course, and racetrack. The topography of the town is very friendly with accessibility being a key attribute of the area. Schooling in Clifton is one of the few rural communities on the Darling Downs offering schooling from Prep to year 12. Clifton has a State Government primary school and a Catholic primary school (prep to year 6). The local State Government high school (years 7 to 12) offers specialised agriculture and equine studies. Two higher education institutions, the University of Southern Queensland and TAFE Queensland South West, are located approximately 45 minutes away.
