Job descriptionAt least 12 months of all-rounder experience and 2 years of mining experience (Essential). Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential). Previous experience in an Open-Pit / Cut mining environment (Desirable). Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of Open-Pit mining equipment. Good understanding of the following machines : Dump Trucks : CAT 777F, 789D, 775F, Water Carts (or other similar machinery in dimension). Graders : CAT 16M, 18M Graders. Permanent full-time role with an immediate start. Excellent remuneration package with additional allowances. Receive a $12k residential allowance per annum, if you are residential and not FIFO. Receive up to $5k site allowance per annum, depending on your site location. Receive up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary. ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Open Pit Ancillary Operator at Norton Gold Fields, you are expected to safely drive large mining equipment to move extracted materials including ore and waste rock from the mining pit to dumping areas. This role emphasizes safety, equipment upkeep, and teamwork for efficient mining operations.
- Operate excavators, dozers, graders, and trucks such as 1250 Komatsu, D10 dozers, Cat 14 & 16 M graders, CAT 777, 785, 789 trucks, and water carts.
- Accurately interpret and apply survey instructions and dig plans.
- Complete daily Take 5 and JSA risk assessments for task safety.
- Use good judgment to select and improve correct procedures for safe and efficient operations.
- Competently complete machine challenge evaluations.
- Give clear directions when working with other machinery operators.
- Minimize disruptions to loading and haulage.
