Purchasing Officer - $38 / hr - $45 / hr + Super

Role Overview

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role is crucial in driving the efficiency of day-to-day supply chain operations. You will ensure accurate data input, generate critical reports, and collaborate across teams to streamline processes.

Responsibilities

  • Input critical data into company systems and databases for seamless supply chain operations
  • Generate and distribute daily reports to monitor and track supply chain performance
  • Manage and organise project-specific reports and data to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain and manage online document archives for easy access and retrieval
  • Handle quality control tasks by matching shipments with purchase orders and ensuring data accuracy in systems like Netsuite
  • Identify and escalate discrepancies between documentation, shipments, and orders
  • Raise purchase orders (POs) for parts and track supplier production lead times
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries
  • Prepare cost and comparison reports for purchases to support decision-making
  • Track deliveries, update logistics information, and monitor costs in systems
  • Support project data requirements and prepare manufacturing documents for project submissions
  • Verify and amend invoices and purchase orders, escalating discrepancies as needed
  • Regularly review purchase order reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with company targets

Candidate Profile

You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive individual, with a strong background in supply chain management or a related field. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in data entry, logistics, and purchase order management, with a solid understanding of systems like Netsuite and SAP. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you'll interact with internal teams and suppliers to ensure smooth collaboration and accurate information flow.

Ideally, you have experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment, with knowledge of procurement, inventory management, and quality control. You are a problem solver who can identify discrepancies and resolve issues to maintain operational efficiency. Your ability to adapt, work independently, and drive continuous improvement will be key to your success in this role.
