An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join the Australia Zoo Food and Beverage team as a Full Time ‘Inventory Supervisor’!

The role of Inventory supervisor is integral to the successful running of Australia Zoo’s food and beverage department,you will order, receive and store goods in accordance with HACCP principles and food safety standards.

You will supervise a team to identify stock requirements through multiple outlets and deliver with accuracy and timeliness by utilising our stock management software. You will be accountable for stock rotation, maintaining storage areas, preventative maintenance systems and stock takes.

This role will give insight into poor performing stock items and highlight areas of opportunity to drive profit through successful purchasing, inventory control and supplier management.

Duties Include :

  • Maintain a regular and rolling stock take.
  • Highlight slow moving stock items and report back to the Chief Food and Beverage Officer with relevant recommendations.
  • Control stock within Food and Beverage outlets to ensure zero to minimal wastage.
  • Liaise with Food and Beverage Management on cooked product par levels through clear and concise records to minimise daily stock loss through over batch cooking.
  • Supervise a dedicated stock team throughout all facets of their roles.
  • Manage preventative maintenance on all stock related vehicles and facilities.
  • Regularly report on potential areas of opportunity in regards to variance and yield management.
  • Daily rotation checks and ensure all products are of a high quality and within use by dates.
  • Receive, store and deliver all required goods to appropriate outlets ensuring items are transferred within all relevant computer softwares.
  • Meet regularly with key suppliers to ensure that products ordered meet high standards.
  • Delegate to your team to conduct vehicle escorts and operational assistance to the Food and Beverage team where required.
  • Assist in setting up and packing up food and beverage ‘activations’ throughout the zoo including pop-up events, functions and private dining events.
  • Maintain the delivery area and conduct regular safety checks of relevant equipment in the area.
  • Handle any minor maintenance requirements within the Food and Beverage team and liaise with Australia Zoo maintenance team for larger projects.

Essential Criteria :

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with a demonstrated ability to problem solve.
  • Excellent organisational & time management skills.
  • Hold current Manual Driver’s Licence.
  • Full availability, including weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
  • Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol.
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate for Food Handling.
