Industrial Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a motivated experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician with a strong mechanical skillset for our Merrifield (VIC) facility to ensure plant and equipment is maintained in a safe, responsible, and timely manner with the expectation of high standards of workmanship.

The successful candidate will work as part of an efficient and effective maintenance support team who provide competent quality mechanical services for Steritech.

About Your Role

You will be responsible for :

• Perform minor installations, preventative and corrective maintenance and breakdown tasks.
• Be solution oriented, effectively diagnose and solve electrical and mechanical maintenance issues.
• Be able to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and experience with fault identification.
• Previous experience with mechanical systems, VFDs, motors and minor fabrication.
• Provide technical support to the production team as required.
• Prior automation experience and clear understanding of hydraulic / pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and engineering drawings, to ensure work is performed in accordance with drawings, specification, and procedures.

About You

You will have a minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a quality function within a pharmaceutical, manufacturing, general healthcare or other highly regulated industry.

You will have :

• Relevant Australian Trade Qualifications or Trade Recognition (e.g. Fitter / Machinist, Mechanical / Maintenance Fitter).
• Experience and / or exposure to PLC systems and automation control is desired but not required.
• Min 3-5 years’ experience, post trade.
• Current Drivers Licence and reliable transport.
• Willingness to be flexible with work hours.
• Have good written and communication skills and the ability to take direction.
• Be safety orientated with a proven commitment to Workplace Health and Safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to provide 24 / 7 on call support when required.
• Demonstrate an attention to detail in all aspects of work.
• Ability to work unsupervised or in a team environment.
