Job description

About Us

At Ramelius Resources, gold mining is more than a business—it’s part of who we are. From our beginnings at Wattle Dam to becoming one of Australia’s most successful gold producers, we’ve built our reputation on performance, innovation, and vision.

With strong cash flow, bold growth plans, and a commitment to sustainable mining, we’re investing in new technology and exploration to shape the future of gold production. Our people are at the heart of it all—driven by purpose, supported by opportunity, and united by ambition. When we grow, you grow.

Mount Magnet is a cornerstone of our operations, combining open pit, underground, and satellite mining with a 17-year mine life. At its core is the Galaxy underground, home to the high-grade Mars and Saturn lodes—open along strike and depth, and backed by active drilling to unlock further resource growth.

The Role

This is a hands-on role where your geological expertise directly impacts production outcomes. You will be responsible for ensuring the right tonnes are mined, and the orebody is understood in real time. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Track and reconcile daily production by overseeing stockpiles, headings, and mined material
  • Map and sample development headings with a strong focus on safety and precision
  • Lead underground drilling programs (diamond and sludge), logging core and chips to define ore
  • Maintain and update 3D geological models through detailed mapping and logging
  • Validate drillhole and production data to ensure geological accuracy and integrity
  • Work closely with mining teams to maximise ore recovery and minimise dilution
  • Mentor and guide Graduate Geologists and Technicians to build team capability
  • Deliver timely, high-quality geological data, QAQC, and reporting
  • Contribute to robust geological interpretations that feed into JORC-compliant models

About You

You have a passion for production and are driven to do better every day. You enjoy the diversity, influence and step-up opportunities that a small team offers and thrive on applying your creative problem-solving skills.  You bring :

  • Bachelor of Science (Geology or Geoscience)
  • Demonstrated experience working in an underground mining environment
  • Proficient in underground mapping, sampling, and logging techniques, with strong attention to geological detail.
  • Comfortable using geological software (e.g. Leapfrog, Surpac, acQuire) to support modelling, data management, and reporting.
  • Confident completing geological mine production reporting
  • Knowledge of gold mineralisation systems and underground mining methods
  • A current West Australian C Class (manual) driver’s licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance.
  • This exciting opportunity is offered on an 8 : 6 FIFO roster from Perth, placing you at the heart of a growing gold producer during a strong phase of expansion. To attract top talent, a competitive salary package is on offer—featuring a generous short-term incentive scheme, health insurance rebate, and a range of additional benefits designed to reward your impact and commitment.
