Are you ready to make a splash in your career Canterbury College is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our dynamic Aquatics Team as a Learn to Swim Instructor and / or Pool Lifeguard on a Casual basis.

Your role :

Learn to Swim Instructor Responsibilities : As a Learn to Swim Instructor youll be responsible for shaping the future of young swimmers and promoting water safety. Your key responsibilities will include :

  • Delivering high-quality engaging and fun swimming lessons that meet program expectations.
  • Creating a secure and enjoyable learning environment for all students.
  • Helping students enhance their water safety knowledge and skills.
  • Assisting in the development of new and existing swim programs.
  • Conducting student evaluations with precision and accuracy.

Pool Lifeguard Responsibilities : As a Pool Lifeguard youll be the guardian of safety at our aquatic facilities. You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining a culture of water safety amongst our students and community. Your main duties will include :

  • Keeping a close watch on the pool area anticipating and swiftly responding to potential risks.
  • Being proficient at administering first-aid and resuscitation when needed.
  • Ensuring everyone follows the facility rules while promoting safe aquatic practices.
  • Taking proactive measures to guarantee the safety and well-being of our patrons and equipment.
  • Providing excellent customer service addressing questions and completing daily checklists.

    • Essential Qualifications :

  • Learn to Swim and / or Lifeguard Certificate
  • Working with Children Blue Card
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Desirable : Teacher of Babies and Toddlers and Teacher of Learners with a Disability certifications
