About this opportunity
The NACC has an Assistant Director, Electronics Collection position available for immediate filling in either Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney.
A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.
About the role
The Assistant Director Electronic Collections reports to the Director Operational Capabilities. Leading a nationally dispersed team under limited direction, key activities of the role include :
Working with the Assistant Director Compliance to ensuring the Commission meets its legislative obligations under the Telecommunications (Intercept and Access) Act 1979 (Cth), the Surveillance Devices Act 2004 (Cth) and the Crimes Act 1914 (Cth).Leading a team to undertake the acquisition of telecommunication data.Coordinating the monitoring of telecommunications interceptions and surveillance devices data as well as digital forensics data.Leading liaison with internal NACC operations to ensure timely processing of support requests including but not limited to electronic monitoring support, pattern of life analysis, assisting with search warrants, assisting with interview and hearing preparation.Working with the Assistant Director Compliance to ensure the Commission is compliant with its legislated record keeping requirements under the TIA Act and the SD Act. Assisting with Commonwealth Ombudsman inspections as needed.Working with the Commission's ICT team to managing the technical capabilities to receive TI and SD product.Assisting with the Commissions International Production Order certification and implementation processes as required.Assisting with the management of the Commissions exhibit processes.Continuously improve and develop internal processes, practices, procedures and policies related to access and use of electronic data.Managing the day-to-day work of the Collections team and personnel.Representing the Commission at relevant external conferences and forums, including the maintenance of a relationship network with relevant partners and across the Australian Government, State and Territory Agencies and private sector telco carriers as necessary.The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the NACC's positive workplace culture.

Citizenshipapplicants must be an Australian Citizen.Security clearancethis is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.Suitability assessmentthe NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character.
