The Technical Center Improvement Engineer is to drive optimization of current processes, lead new process technology implementation, and small capital project development for the facilities. The Improvement Engineer will work closely with Operations to identify improvement opportunities, evaluate priorities for focused improvements, and provide projects for management of 5-year plan. This individual will be the site champion for implementation and management of PSM. This role will support both owned and tolled sites in the country.
Responsibilities
Asset Utilization and Continuous Improvement :
- Support plant Operations through supplemental review of performance data to identify long-term improvement plans to further optimize various processes
- Successfully execute Continuous Improvement projects
- Lead and / or participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify and prioritize areas of improvement for the plant
- Conduct and / or participate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and complete all necessary Management of Change (MOC) requirements for implementation of process or system changes
- Identify bottlenecks in process and initiate Productivity improvement actions at Tolling sites
- Ensure capacities (Tolling sites) are in line with the Business needs and review the same at regular intervals
- Drive Cost Reduction initiatives and enforce implementation
New Technology and Capital Project Development :
Develop and execute test protocols to determine the viability of new technology, when neededManage engineering contractors to develop project scope, schedule, estimate, requests for proposals (RFP), drawings and other project documentsDevelop necessary FEL and / or other CDP documentation for processing technologies that will require capital funding for implementationEnsure all steps of MOC process are completed for new project implementation, including HAZOP, PHA and lessons learned meetingsDevelop the 5-year capital plan for the facility based on recommended improvementNew Product Introduction (NPI) :
Coordinate supply chain changes with respect to new pack size offerings, qualification of alternate supply, addition of new manufacturing or transfer between locations for an existing formulation and launch of a new productEstablish regular communication with R&D team regarding critical milestones for each project to ensure Technical Transfer Package (TTP) is developed on schedule in support of Capital Deployment Process (CDP)Process Safety Management Champion :
Serve as the facility champion for the MOC process, ensuring the process is implemented, followed and completed for all identified changesSupport as the local site lead to ensure compliance with changes and improvements to PSM related policies and proceduresEducation
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field.Experience
You must have at least 5 to 8 years of working experience in an Agro chemical environment with process experience.Experienced professional with knowledge of the technical field and working knowledge of business processes, technologies and applications.A demonstrated history of bringing a major project in safely, on time and on budget.Experience in commissioning facilities.Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.Strategic agility with foresight and the ability to create alternate plans.Strong project management skills.Please note : Only applicants with full and unrestricted working rights in Australia or New Zealand will be considered.
