Overview

Photographer / Videographer & Content Creator (Full Time or Part Time).

The Media Society is a boutique creative marketing agency specialising in brand strategy, content creation, social media marketing, creative copy & design for established and emerging businesses and personal branding. We’re looking for a content-obsessed creative to join our team. You’ll be behind the camera (and occasionally in front), directing and producing content that not only looks amazing, but also performs for our diverse client base.

This position is full time, however we are open to flexible working arrangements for the right candidates.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owning the full content process - from concept and planning through to shooting, editing, and delivering scroll-stopping content.
  • Directing and filming shoots around Brisbane (with the chance to travel interstate), making clients and talent feel comfortable and confident on set.
  • Creating and executing content across a mix of formats - from short-form reels and TikToks to YouTube, paid ads, and internal campaigns.
  • Turning ideas into visuals through the creation of storyboards, shot lists and mood boards.
  • Getting hands-on with equipment including lighting, audio, and multi-camera setups, plus iPhone content when needed.
  • Editing with precision, producing polished, on-brand videos with strong hooks, pacing, transitions, and sound.
  • Repurposing long-form content into high-impact short-form pieces that are made to perform.
  • Staying on top of trends, sounds, transitions, and formats, and creatively adapting them for clients.
  • Collaborating with our social and strategy teams to brainstorm content that’s not just beautiful, but delivers results.

What you’ll bring

  • 2+ years of proven experience in videography, photography, editing, or content creation (send us your portfolio to show us your skills).
  • Confidence using industry-standard editing tools like Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or similar.
  • Experience with DSLR / mirrorless cameras, lighting, and audio setups - and just as confident pulling out your iPhone for on-the-go content. Having your own camera is a bonus, as we know every creative has their preferred tools.
  • A natural storyteller who understands how to capture attention and drive engagement across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and beyond.
  • Strong project management skills - able to take ownership and deliver high-quality work on time.
  • A vibrant, proactive energy that makes working with clients and teams feel fun and effortless.
  • Curiosity and drive to experiment with new tools, techniques, and AI.
  • Bonus (but not essential) : graphic design skills, drone experience, or agency / ads background.
  • Based in Brisbane.
