Clinical Nurse Consultant (Grade 1) – Older Person’s Community Mental Health – Bankstown

Employment Type : Temporary Full‑time, 38 hours per week until June 2027

Location : Bankstown Community Health Centre

Salary : $2,501.49 – $2,552.60 per week

About the Opportunity

An exciting position to join a multidisciplinary Older Person’s Community Mental Health Service. The role focuses on delivering recovery‑oriented, culturally sensitive and holistic support to consumers in their homes or residential aged care settings, while working collaboratively with families, carers, GPs and aged‑care providers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead evidence‑based practice and promote clinical excellence, research and professional leadership.
  • Collaborate with health‑care providers and consumer groups to develop clinical practice standards and evaluate outcomes.
  • Provide specialist mental‑health care services and facilitate effective management of older‑person care in community settings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered Nurse with a current Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) licence.
  • Five years full‑time equivalent post‑registration experience or approved postgraduate nursing qualifications in a relevant specialty.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex mental‑health care for older adults, including care‑management plan development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience contributing to education programs or clinical service planning within a mental‑health specialty, incorporating research findings or professional standards.
  • Australian C‑class driver’s licence (P1 or P2). Drivers from other states must obtain an NSW C‑class licence within three months of appointment.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency; must be able to work legally in Australia.
