The Organisation
Melbourne City Mission (MCM) are a leading community services organisation that have provided a broad range of support services to the people of Victoria for over 150 years. Taking an innovative approach and leveraging off a century and a half of experience, MCM are continuing to work closely with disadvantaged communities to drive systemic change in areas such as childhood intervention, homelessness, education, palliative care, disability and mental health. As the MCM continues to grow their property portfolio continues to expand and diversify and the facilities and maintenance team is seen as an integral part of the business.
The Opportunity
The Building Maintenance Officer is a newly created role as part of the evolving strategy to ensure MCM’s expanding facilities footprint is maintained to the highest quality, in a responsive and cost-effective capacity. Reporting directly to the Sr FM and working as part of the property team the role will be responsible for assessing and completing reactive maintenance repairs, as well as the coordination and auditing of specialist sub-contractor works. The role will be hands on in nature and ideal for those candidates looking for an opportunity that will allow you work on the tools whilst interfacing directly with customers and staff at each of MCM’s facilities.
The role offers autonomy within your day, whilst ensuring that close support and ongoing mentoring is provided by the Sr FM and Head of FM as the role expands to assist in the planning and development of maintenance routines and facilities management strategy.
