Tax Accountant (In-house) - South East Suburbs

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a highly collaborative internal tax team within a well‑established international business. This role sits within a shared services environment, supporting both Australian and New Zealand operations. You’ll work closely with a supportive and highly regarded Senior Tax Accountant who is invested in development, learning and setting people up for success.

This is a strong opportunity if you're looking for a role where you’ll have variety across income tax, FBT, GST, consolidated tax schedules and reporting across both Australia and New Zealand. The structure of the team means you’ll get exposure rather than being siloed, and the hiring manager is excellent at developing people and giving the right level of support without micromanaging. The role would suit someone at the Assistant Manager grade in professional services or someone currently in a similar in‑house position. A rare aspect for an in‑house tax role, is progression that’s built in. There is a plan in place already to develop this position into the Senior Tax Accountant grade, in the not too distant future.

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing FBT returns and managing GST lodgements across Australia and NZ
• Completing year‑end tax effect accounting calculation
• Preparing parent tax reporting submissions
• Preparing income tax schedules to support consolidated tax lodgements
• Maintaining a tax lodgement register to ensure compliance
• Identifying and assisting with process improvements
• Supporting tax governance documentation and policy development
