About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team at the Fat Elephant Thai restaurant in Canterbury, Sydney. This is a full-time role with a sponsorship opportunity for the right candidate. As Chef, you will be responsible to play a crucial role in creating and delivering delicious cuisine to our customers. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled chef to showcase their talents in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Cook, prepare, and serve food to the highest standards.
  • Maintain food safety and hygienic regulations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff
  • Manage orders, keep an eye on ingredient levels, and reduce food waste.
  • Work closely with other culinary departments to provide smooth service.

What we’re looking For :

  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery
  • Two years or more of prior experience working as a chef
  • Excellent understanding of culinary methods, food preparation, and presentation
  • An enthusiasm for providing excellent meals and outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Outstanding abilities in teamwork and communication
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
