A distinctive feature of Consent Labs is its people. As an organisation created for young people and informed by their experiences, Consent Labs places genuine value on youth voice and lived experience.

Founded in 2019, Consent Labs is a national youth-led charity dedicated to preventing sexual violence through evidence-based consent and respectful relationships education.

Participants experience the programs as highly engaging and relatable; however, every aspect of the curriculum is informed by evidence and research, ensuring learning experiences that are both impactful and grounded in proven practice.

This commitment has seen Consent Labs evolve from a founder-led start-up driven by passion and advocacy into a mature, nationally recognised charity with a growing organisational footprint and an influential voice in national conversations about consent education and violence prevention.

The Role & Key Deliverables

Co-founder and CEO Angelique Wan is stepping down from the executive role, creating an opportunity for the organisation to transition from founder-led leadership to its next phase of growth and impact. This is not a turnaround or reinvention opportunity and the incoming CEO will inherit an organisation with strong foundations, a respected national brand, an established governance structure, diversified revenue streams and a clear strategic plan, with four key priorities:

• Scaling access to programs
• Fostering collaborative partnerships
• Strengthening sector-wide advocacy
• Ensuring long-term organisational sustainability

The Board is seeking a CEO who combines strategic ambition with operational discipline, capable of translating these priorities into measurable outcomes and expanding the organisation's reach and influence nationally.

The successful candidate will bring the confidence to provide strategic direction while recognising that listening to, valuing and empowering the perspectives of young people is fundamental to the organisation's continued relevance, credibility and impact.

Candidate Profile

• Proven CEO or executive leadership experience within a complex NFP, education or mission-driven organisation, partnering with a governance-led board to develop and execute strategy.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including management of diversified revenue streams and sustainable growth.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement capability across government, philanthropy, education, community and corporate sectors.
• Experience cultivating a high-performing, values-aligned and inclusive culture across a distributed, multi-jurisdictional team and embedding operational maturity, accountability and organisational performance.
• A strategic and adaptable leader with the ability to drive growth, innovation and change in a values-led environment.
• Credible and influential communicator, able to act as a compelling ambassador with media, policymakers and sector stakeholders.

Experience within education, violence prevention, primary prevention, youth services or related social impact sectors will be highly regarded.

Location

The role can be located in Sydney or Melbourne with regular travel between the two offices.
