We're seeking an experienced facilities management professional to oversee maintenance activities across our Deakin campuses. A trade qualification and hands-on technical background will be highly regarded, offering the opportunity to apply your technical expertise and knowledge in a dynamic and rewarding university environment.

In this role, you'll help shape the day-to-day experience of thousands of students and staff by ensuring Deakin's campuses are safe, functional and well maintained. Working alongside contractors, stakeholders and the Property Services team, you'll coordinate maintenance activities, deliver practical solutions and contribute to continuous improvements across our campus facilities, infrastructure and services.

The role at a glance:

• Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance activities across campus facilities
• Manage maintenance requests, prioritising work and ensuring timely resolution
• Liaise with contractors and service providers to deliver maintenance works safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
• Conduct facility inspections and identify maintenance requirements
• Support preventative maintenance programs that improve reliability and asset performance
• Monitor contractor performance and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders to minimise disruption and deliver excellent service outcomes
• Contribute to creating safe, efficient, and well-maintained campus environments

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Experience in facilities management, maintenance coordination, building services, or asset maintenance
• Trade qualifications and hands-on maintenance experience will be highly regarded
• Demonstrated knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices, including areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical services and general building maintenance
• Excellent stakeholder and contractor management skills
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• A proactive, customer-focused approach to problem solving
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
