Contract: Minimum 6 weeks, up to 12 weeks (longer contracts preferred)

Job Summary

Are you ready to have influence in a unique and challenging healthcare environment? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse to join the team at Alice Springs Correctional Centre. This role offers a rare opportunity to provide critical healthcare services in a secure facility, ensuring the well-being of individuals in custody.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to individuals in a custodial setting.
• Perform health assessments, manage acute and chronic conditions, and respond to medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with correctional staff and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
• Uphold professional and ethical standards in a secure environment.

Skills and experience

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• 4–5 years of post-graduate experience (experience in Primary Health or corrections highly regarded).
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
