Location : North East Melbourne – hybrid (3 days on site)

Contract : 6 months

Hourly Rate : $80–$88 per hour + super

Randstad is proud to be a preferred recruitment partner with a State Government organisation currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This is a contract opportunity with hybrid flexibility, ideal for a technically strong professional with a government background and a keen eye for efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger management
• Prepare high-quality financial statements and ensure compliance with AASB and public sector financial regulations
• Collaborate across teams to identify and implement financial efficiencies and process improvements
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, prepare audit documentation, and respond to queries
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to aid strategic decision-making
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure data integrity across financial systems
• Assist with other core accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, and asset management as required
